Quite frankly, I don't even know where to begin with this game. So many thoughts are rushing through my head right now I can't even begin to process what happened in today's game. Honestly, I keep looking at the score and who they were playing and don't really want to think about it either. So let's just move onto grades/giving almost everyone an F.
Noah had a very very very quiet night. The entire game he seemed lethargic on offense and defense and just completely out of it. According to Tom Thibodeau, Noah was under the weather tonight which, quite frankly, explains a good deal. While I would normally give an F grade to him (because everyone deserves an F tonight), the fact that he's been the most efficient player all season and one of the only reasons Chicago has won any games earns him a major pass.
I do not care if Carlos Boozer posted a double-double. Tonight, he was inefficient on offense (needing 18 shots to get his 19 points) and such a nightmare on defense that the Bobcats kept driving it to the basket with ease.
First and foremost, F because Chicago lost to the Bobcats.
Secondly, Deng posted a nice statline but was widly inefficient in the process. His 20 points came off of 19 shots (something I'll address in a post I'm working on). Defensively, he was sub par compared to his usual self as he repeatedly allowed players to get by him without putting up much of a fight. He was also late or completely absent on almost every rotation he had to make. Terrible terrible night for Deng.
I have nothing to say for Hamilton.
Hinrich sat out tonight with a knee injury which bumped Nate Robinson to the starting lineup. While normally this would make me happy as Robinson has been one of Chicago's best players this season, it didn't exactly please me tonight.
Today, we got one of those games from Robinson where he is completely cold and can't do anything no matter how hard he tries. It's not unexpected as it's bound to happen with a player like him. But only making two of 11 shots is just unacceptable. Defensively, he was also a significant detriment to the team.
I'm not even going to go in depth on the bench tonight. They were absolutely horrendous. No one could get a shot going, defensively they were just run all over the place (including Jimmy Butler as shocking as that may be). Tonight, they really lived up to the name BenchSobs
I always find it hard to give a coach an F, especially one like Thibodeau. After all, a coach can only do so much outside of game planning and keeping the team going. But the Bulls have been laughable for the third game in a row. Thibs needs to do something to get this team a nice, big win.
Losing to the Charlotte Bobcats. Enough said.
What I Expect For Next Time:
- For my eyes to not be violated.
Thanks for tuning in everyone. Sorry the game was such a bummer but I guess it's just the way 2012 has been for the Chicago Bulls. Here's hoping 2013 will be kinder to us all! We hope you have a great night and a Happy New Year! Be safe!Tags: Carlos Boozer, Charlotte Bobcats, Chicago, Chicago Bulls, Joakim Noah, NBA, Tom Thibodeau
