Chicago Bulls at Indiana Pacers Preview: into the South Bend of Madness

As per usual, the preseason doesn't matter. On to the preview.

1) "He's a game-time decision." — Tom Thibodeau

Oh, Thibs. Always with the game time decisions. You realize this is just preseason, right? Kirk Hinrich is currently a game time decision. For a preseason game.

It's going to be fascinating to see how Thibs handles Derrick Rose when he starts getting close to coming back. Best guess is Derrick will be a gametime decision for about three weeks before he finally comes back.

2) Notre Dame? Bleh.

As you may be aware, this game is being played in South Bend, Indiana, on the campus of Notre Dame. There's nothing inherently wrong with that, especially since the Bulls have already played the Cleveland Cavaliers in Champaign, Illinois, this preseason. But Notre Dame is annoying. Just saying.

3) 14th man?

The Bulls roster stands at 13 right now, after they waved Ryan Allen — brother of Tony Allen — and Marko Jaric this week. This will be the opening day roster, but once the prorated veteran's minimum goes down in late November, the Bulls will be able to sign another player. Kyrylo Fesenko seemed like the best bet, but it's hard to say now. It might also change based on how various players perform in the early going. We'll see.

That's all for now, enjoy the game.
