The Chicago Bulls are getting set to tip off against the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight in a battle that should have been fairly entertaining. Unfortunately, both teams have stars, Ricky Rubio and Derrick Rose, that have been taken out of action by their respective ACL injuries. So we're stuck with watching Carlos Boozer trying to defend Kevin Love.
Three things about tonight's game:
1) No injuries please
Caleb discussed this in the Cleveland-Chicago preview he did a couple of days ago, but I feel it should be restated. Please no injuries. As it is Chicago is in a bad spot without Rose, but an injury to Joakim Noah, Luol Deng, Carlos Boozer, Richard Hamilton, or Taj Gibson would just be adding salt onto an open wound. Especially since this is a meaningless preseason game.
2) Less Turnovers
In the past game against the Cavs, the Bulls turned the ball so many times in the first half that I thought Thibodeau would murder someone right there on the court. Chicago improved their ball control in the second half by playing more within themselves. If Chicago can keep control of the ball, they have a good shot at winning the game tonight.
3) Improved Bench Play
The new bench, the BenchSobs as I like to call them (thanks again to reader Jake Lorton for the name) have been terrible the past couple of games. The drop in offense is just about the same as it was last year, however, there is now an added drop in defense. The bench needs to improve their play in at least one of these areas if Chicago even wants to have a prayer this season.
That about does it. Hope you all enjoy the game.
