Real Madrid's winning streak has reached seven as they racked up two more victories this past week. Chicago Bulls 2011 first round draft pick Nikola Mirotic was solid in both games, but he was especially good in a Euroleague win on Thursday.
Mirotic put up a double-double in a 72-65 win over Armani Milano, notching 11 points and 10 rebounds in 26 minutes. He was 5-9 from the field and also dished out a couple of dimes. Real Madrid improved to 5-2 in the Euroleague and guaranteed themselves a spot in the next round.
In the ACB League, the second-ranked club ran roughshod over sixth-ranked Valencia 81-64. Mirotic came off the bench and only played 18 minutes, but he still managed to score eight points on 3-7 shooting. His rebounding came back down to earth a bit, as he only pulled down two boards. Real Madrid sits at 9-1 in ACB League play.
Mirotic continues to play well when he gets the minutes. I'm still confused as to why he sometimes starts and sometimes comes off the bench, but I do not know the whole situation. Either way, hard not to be impressed by what the youngster is doing in a very tough European league.
